Experience a fall phenomenon among the Mississippi River bluffs as tundra swans descend on Rieck's Lake Park in Alma, Wisconsin. These majestic birds pass through the area on their annual migration from northern Canada and Alaska to the Chesapeake Bay area. Did you know...The tundra swans that stop here are on their way to the East Coast. From Rieck's Lake, swans will drift southeasterly along the Upper Mississippi River pools then move across Wisconsin, heading southeasterly across Lake Michigan, through Michigan to Lake Ontario. After staging on and around Lake Ontario, the swans move through Pennsylvania and into the Chesapeake Bay region.
