Mission
"To share with visitors to Rieck's Lake Park a knowledge of and an appreciation for the tundra swan and the associated flora and fauna of the Mississippi River valley."
   Alma Tundra Swan Watch

Riecks Lake Swans

The Alma Tundra Swan Watch website provides information on the Tundra Swan migration through Riecks Lake in Alma, Wisconsin.

Experience a fall phenomenon among the Mississippi River bluffs as tundra swans descend on Riecks Lake Park in Alma, Wisconsin. These majestic birds pass through the area on their annual migration from northern Canada and Alaska to the Chesapeake Bay area. Each year, bird lovers visit Alma to see the swans from the Riecks Lake Park Wildlife Observation Platform. Don't believe it? Click to see what others have said.

If you would like to witness this beautiful spectacle, watch this Web site for information on the swans arrival to help you plan your visit.

What's new...The Federal Scenic Byways Program granted funds to Buffalo County to improve the viewing area and campground at Riecks Lake Park as well as funds to dredge some 80,000 cubic yards of silt from the lake. The dredging took place this past summer. By making the open water areas available again, we are hoping the swans will return to Riecks Lake in much larger numbers. [more]
